HSI’s Strategic Agenda
As a part of the organization’s nine strategic goal areas, HSI has determined
the need to develop the HSI Research and Education Institute
Purpose
To advance research and education activities that
will:
- Improve students, interns, staff, community, and policymakers
understanding and effectiveness of intervention strategies with the various
populations served throughout the organization’s service spectrum.
- Influence organizational structure and change and facilitate
interdisciplinary collaboration with persons assigned to conduct related
research activities.
- Validate innovative approaches to service delivery through research
studies and publication.
- To influence policymakers in their decisions to support funding for
service provision and replication across other community, local, national
and international human service providers.
HSI Institute’s Specific Goals
- Provide clinical experiences and training opportunities in the area of
research for students working towards educational advancement in social
service related disciplines
- Build a comprehensive inventory of community based research initiatives.
- Build capacity to secure funding for longitudinal studies that will
further expand the Social Service arena
- Identify research gaps and opportunities
- Develop strategies to modify Social Service policies and programs
- Host community forums on prevention research to disseminate study
findings
- Determine the correlation between treatment intervention and service
effectiveness
