HSI Remembers Whitney

HSI’s relationship with Whitney Houston began in June, 1987 when her Mom, Cissy Houston, performed at Spiagga Restaurant to support their programs.  Just one month later, Whitney attended a special luncheon to benefit HSI with Oprah Winfrey.  The “Big Show” happened in June, 1989.  Whitney, Luther Vandross, Dionne Warwick, BeBe & CeCe Winans all came together at the Ritz Carlton to perform a musical tribute to Cissy Houston.  Whitney also visited HSI’s Special Education program in 1991 and allowed HSI to purchase “VIP” tickets at her only Chicago appearance in June, 1991 at the World Music Theatre.

Our entire HSI family honors and pays tribute to the memory and life of Whitney Houston.  “We’ll Always Love You Whitney.”
